Dear Friends,
Hello, my name is Carolyn Bye, and I have just joined the staff as
Interim Executive Director of OutFront Minnesota.
I want to take this opportunity to introduce myself to the community,
as I know there are many stakeholders in this all-important community
organization! First let me say how very much I have admired
OutFront Minnesota as a long-time leading advocacy organization for the
gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender community. Please know that the
amazing work this organization has done over the years will continue and
grow.
We will continue to provide the advocacy, public policy, community
organizing, legal referrals, anti-violence, and other work that we have
become so well-known and respected for not only in this state but around
the country.
Our mission will remain the same – "to make our state a place where
GLBT Minnesotans have the freedom, power, and confidence to make the
best choices for their own lives."
I have a longstanding commitment and investment in the success of
nonprofit organizations, having held key positions at several of them
including the Guthrie Theater, CHART, and the Metropolitan Regional Arts
Council. I have a deep personal commitment to the justice issues that
are central to the work of OutFront Minnesota and the future health and
well being of this organization is important to me.
In my capacity as Interim Executive Director, my duties include
ensuring the strength of OutFront Minnesota’s operations so that it can
continue to serve the GLBT and allied community as well as it always
has. I look forward to working on behalf of the community over the next
several months.
