Sick Leave
Contact your Minnesota Representative and
Minnesota Senator and express your disappointment at the removal of
the bill from consideration for this year. Tell them you support GLBT
equality and you want them to support it as well.
Current law allows workers to take sick leave for themselves and
their children. This legislation would have expanded that to include
parents, spouses, step-children, domestic partners, and others.
The bill originally did not include domestic partners but OutFront
Minnesota worked with lawmakers to amend the legislation to include
domestic partners in the group of people for whom sick leave could be
taken.
