Roxanne Anderson

Roxanne Anderson is a community activist who has been working for social justice in the LGBTQ community for more than 15 years. In 2013, Roxanne won OutFront Minnesota's Legacy Award, which honors an individual who has demonstrated long-term commitment to equality for LGBTQ Minnesotans. In 2014, as Associate Director of Trans Organizing at OutFront, Roxanne worked with staff and community members to raise awareness and support for the Minnesota High School League's policy which allows trans student athletes to play on teams that match the gender they live every day. Roxanne was also involved with the Minneapolis Transgender Issues Workgroup, which raised awareness and support for a Minneapolis City Council resolution, making restroom access for transgender people easier and safer. Roxanne is the former Director of the Minnesota Transgender Health Coalition and the Exchange where they helped run the shot clinic and needle exchange program. Roxanne is also the co-owner of Café Southside and co-founder and director of RARE Productions, a multimedia arts and entertainment company focusing on producing and promoting queer artists of color.
