Domestic Violence Services

OutFront Minnesota has been at the forefront of same-sex domestic abuse intervention for years. We offer direct services to victims of domestic violence and offer trainings concerning same-sex domestic abuse to domestic violence service providers.

Between one in three and one in four of all relationships will experience some form of domestic violence...and the same rates apply to the GLBT community.. Abuse can take many physical and psychological forms and can have both short and long term impacts on the victim/survivor and their family. If you are being abused by a partner, there is help!

Support, Referrals and Resources

24-hours per day you can speak to a trained domestic violence counselor by dialing “2” from OutFront Minnesota’s main numbers (612) 822-0127 or(800) 800-0350. OutFront Minnesota also maintains a same-gender domestic abuse Hotline at (612) 824-8434.

OutFront Minnesota has trained crisis counselors who can help you:

  • file for protective orders,
  • referrals to domestic violence shelters and other safe places in the community
  • other advocacy services
  • receive short-term crisis counseling for both domestic violencevictims and their concerned families or loved ones
  • find resources and options to make your life as safe as possible

NOTE: OutFront Minnesota provides victim-related services and will provide referrals, but not direct services, for those seeking help with their own abusive behavior.

Bridges to Safety

Bridges to Safety opened in 2008 in Ramsey County, a full service center for victims of domestic violence and their families. OutFront Minnesota's Anti-Violence staff played an integral part in the development of the center to ensure that services included the GLBT community. This is the first such center in Ramsey County, the culmination of four years of work. Members of the GLBT community can call Bridges to Safety and ask for a GLBT advocate. They may also call OutFront Minnesota's Anti-Violence Program at ext. 210 to arrange an appointment with one of our staff advocates who will meet them at the center.

Hennepin County Domestic Abuse Service Center

Monday through Friday, we also offer advocacy services at the Hennepin County Domestic Abuse Service Center (DASC) located in the lower level of the Hennepin County Government Center. DASC is a full service center that provides victim/survivors access to a variety of resources and advocacy services.

All members of our community deserve to be safe.
