Become a Volunteer Crisis Advocate
OutFront Minnesota Community Services' Anti-Violence Program is seeking people to become Volunteer Crisis Advocates to assist staffing our 24/7 Crisis Support Line and to provide advocacy related services, including short term crisis counseling. Other opportunities include engaging in community outreach throughout the state as we work with other agencies, communities and groups throughout Minnesota to develop effective collaborative efforts to address issues of violence facing LGBT Minnesotans.
We are committed to honoring the unique needs of LGBT crime victims and their friends/families throughout Minnesota, building the safety and power of survivors and community members, and creating opportunities for support and healing through the provision of crisis intervention, advocacy, counseling, community education and outreach. We believe that to truly create systems and societal change and equity, our work must constantly and through collective effort be located in an intersectional lens that honors our many layered identities.
