School Resources

All students have the right to an education and to the opportunity to reach their full potential of academic achievement. No student, family, or staff member associated with a Minnesota school should be made to feel unsafe or be deprived of educational opportunities because of bias concerning sexual orientation or gender identity. By working to make Minnesota schools safe for GLBT students, staff, and faculty, OutFront Minnesota helps schools create a positive school environment in which everyone can thrive.

OutFront Minnesota Provides:

  • Advocacy services for students experiencing bias or discrimination at school
  • Trainings / consultations for school staff
  • Lobbying – working with legislators, local human rights commissions and other elected officials to advocate for quality educational environments
  • Membership in Minnesota School OUTreach Coalition - works statewide to improve the school climate for GLBT youth in k-12 schools, including various Gay-Straight Alliances
