OutFront Minnesota Anti-Violence Program Manager Rebecca Waggoner
Kloek has worked extensively with anti-violence focused, community-based
programs for over 10 years. She has expertise in sexual assault and
domestic violence, and has worked at every level of program development
and management. Rebecca was named an Outstanding Advocate for the
Minnesota Coalition Against Sexual Assault in 2002, and wrote a handbook
entitled “The Accidental Lobbyist: Grassroots Organizing in Minnesota.”
She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Women’s Studies with an emphasis in
Public Policy from the University of Minnesota. In her current role at
OutFront Minnesota, she manages all Anti-Violence Program related
activities including developing effective services for GLBT crime
victims, staffing the 24-hour crisis line, providing individual crisis
counseling and providing advocacy services to victims to help them work
within law enforcement, legal and/or medical systems. In addition,
Rebecca is responsible for developing Anti-Violence related training
curricula on topics including domestic violence, hate/bias crimes and
methods to create safe community responses to GLBT crime victims. She
has trained extensively throughout Minnesota and at several national
conferences on these topics. Her cutting-edge presentations both engage
audiences and help develop safer community practices. Rebecca sits on
several community boards and advisory committees including the
Minneapolis Police Community Relations Council, the St. Paul Chief’s
Advisory Board and the Hennepin County Family Violence Coordinating
Council. |
