Domestic Violence Resources

OutFront Minnesota offers direct services to victims of domestic violence and trainings on same-sex domestic abuse to Domestic Violence service providers.

Statistically, GLBT people experience domestic abuse at about the same rate as the rest of society. This abuse can take physical and psychological forms. If you are in a relationship with an abusive partner, there is help.

OutFront Minnesota has trained Domestic Violence staff who can help you file for protection, advise you on how to handle the situation, and refer you for help in finding shelter. 24-hours a day you can speak to a concerned, trained domestic violence counselor by dialing 1 from OutFront Minnesota’s InfoLine at (612) 822-0127 or (800) 800-0350.

OutFront Minnesota also maintains a Same-Sex Domestic Abuse Hotline at (612) 824-8434.

Cornerstone is a local shelter that is welcoming to same-sex domestic abuse victims. You can call them at (612) 884-0330

Women who are violent or abusive to their partner may wish to call Judson Family Center at (612) 827-2631 for information on therapy groups.

Anti-Violence Resources

OutFront Minnesota is a leader in providing Anti-Violence programs. We work to prevent harassment through education and visibility. We conduct trainings to make sure that the response from the justice system is appropriate, and we work with prosecutors and police departments to make sure that they are sensitive to the unique needs of GLBT community members. We also work with crime victims to help them get back on their feet.

If you have been physically assaulted, harassed, threatened, catcalled, or intimidated, we want to know about it. You can report directly to our Anti-Violence Program at (612) 822-0127 or (800) 800 0350, ext. 101.

You can remain anonymous, and your report will be compiled with those from other states as part of the National Gay and Lesbian Anti-Violence Report. In addition, your report will help OutFront Minnesota work with the FBI, state law enforcement agencies, and local police in preventing future anti-gay harassment.
