Alexis joined the OutFront team in the fall of 2020 as a Policy and Organizing Coordinator, working primarily with faith communities and college campuses. In her role, Alexis strives to build and sustain community among queer and allied people of faith and college students, faculty, and staff. She is dedicated to sharing resources and offering educational trainings to these communities. Before coming to OutFront, Alexis worked with various non-profits, including the International Institute of St. Louis, University Academy Foundation, Teach for America, and Minnesota Youth Collective. Alexis is based in her hometown of Kansas City, MO. She earned her BA in psychology from Carleton College ('20), with a minor in africana studies and special interests in social behavior, women and gender studies, and French and francophone studies. At Carleton, Alexis gained some of her earliest campus organizing experience by co-founding a grassroots student movement and worked enthusiastically as a resident assistant. In her free time, Alexis enjoys picking up eclectic hobbies such as button making, stone and shell collecting, and speed cup stacking. She is an avid baker, habitual over-packer, movie buff, and escape (room) artist with strong commitments to education, resource distribution, and mental health maintenance.
